HO HO HO HANDSCRUB

so...giftie season is here!...and if you're like me...you gotta do 'em on the cheap this year...but don't let the quantity of money affect the quality of the gift...how 'bout whipping up some homemade sugar hand scrub?...

this stuff is beyond fantabulous!...it gives you the most yummy smelliest (was that even english?...lol) softest hands...i would say baby's bottom soft...but that kinda sounds a little like butt hands...and that's not a good selling point!...lol...

anywho...this is the easiest stuff to make...plus, i betcha have all the ingredients ready to go...all two of 'em!...well...what are we waiting for?...lol...

grab some sugar...a knife...and dish detergent...yeah...you read that correctly!....i like to use the stuff with oil of olay aka great for your skin...plus...it smells like pomegranate...yummers!...

ok...this might be the only thing you'll have to buy...i got these 8 oz jelly jars at walmart...but you can use any kind of container that you have on hand...a great way to recycle some of those jars!...

fill the jar almost to the top with sugar...

then start adding the dish detergent...just a layer of it...you're not going to fill up the jar...

then take your knife and start stirring!...why a knife?...it's a little tricky getting a spoon in there without the sugar going everywhere...i don't know this for sure...i've just heard...lol...wink wink...

keep going...

all done!...

now sometimes you have add either more sugar or more dish detergent...to get the right consistancy...you don't want it too runny or too thick...

add your label and lid and your ready for gifting!...

the only thing that can be easier than making it...is the packaging!....i grabbed a fab silk poinsettia and slapped a magnet on the back...

then plopped on top!...plus...it's a gift in a gift!...now who wouldn't love this?...

BLUE 42...BLUE 42...HUT...HUT

so...for some reason...at back to school time...i decided to stock up on crayons....no particular reason why...just because...well...when piling 'em into my cart...i kept thinking..."wow...a quarter a pack"...somehow that turned into quarterback...and then i got to thinking about a football mold i have...yeah...that's how my brain works...lol...

anywho...found this how to on martha about making your own crayons...now...i did a couple things different...since i'm impatient...i cranked the oven up to 350...and it only took about 10 minutes...also...i used a silicone mold...popped right out!...finally...my ocd would not allow me to mix colors...so i kept 'em all the same...

how perfect would these be for party favors?...or way a keep the little ones occupied during the super bowl?...what about year end gifties for youth football?...whatever you make 'em for...they'll get the crowd cheering!...

LEAF + WATER = SOAP

so...i realized...maybe it was time to fall-ify my house...you know...since all three of my tree's leaves have turned...anywho...for me...first thing i like to do is change up my soap scents...gotta get my nose in the holiday spirit...then the rest will follow...

well...got to thinking that i wanted do something a little different than the 'ol bath & body works pump...and these little single use soaps came to mind...i didn't feel right leaf-ing it up to you to figure out how they were done...so i did up a little tutorial!....

you'll be needing...some wax paper...clear melt and pour soap...tweezers...and fragrance oil...

also...grab some polyester leaves...i got mine from oriental trading
...but i betcha you could find 'em at your local craft stores!...

put your soap into the microwave...you'll want to do a minute at 50%...if not melted...then do another 30 seconds at the 50%....now...this project doesn't require very much soap...so just a few chunks will do....

add your fragrance oil and stir...

taking your tweezers...grab a leaf...

dip into the soap...make sure it's fully covered....

let all the excess soap drip off...this just takes like half a minute...i help it along and shake a bit...now...sometimes the color will drip into the soap...don't panic...it's all good....

place on your piece of wax paper to cool...grab another leaf...and repeat!...

see all that shine?...well that's the soap on there!...

once all done...put in a little dish and place by the sink...then your guests can grab a leaf...lather up...and throw away!...

ended up packaging some as gifties for my coworkers...just took some glassine bags...put a couple leaves in there...punched holes...and tied up with baker's twine!...

i also put a couple in a plastic baggie to keep in my purse...just in case there's ever a soap shortage in the public restrooms!...

PLACECARDS...SOMETHING TO CHALK ABOUT

well...with turkey day coming up...thought i'd better get started on my crafties...and the placecards were first on my list!...

this might shock some...but chalkboard paint was used for this project!...anywho...went to the recycling bin and grabbed some chipboard...aka cereal boxes...used my handy dandy cricut and create a critter cart...and cut these out at 3 1/2" inches...then on the printed side...i slapped two coats of paint...let dry...drew the names on there...and topped with a bow!....

can't get much easier than that!...and best part...you can keep changing your guest list!...lol...hope you like!...
